Precision Surface Grinding Services
Precision Surface Grinding Services
Surface grinding is the precision finishing of a tube’s outside (OD)—and sometimes inside (ID)—to achieve a specific diameter, roundness, straightness, and surface finish. This highly precise machining process uses abrasive wheels to remove material and provide features, leaving a smooth, refined finish with highly accurate tolerances.
Surface grinding allows us to improve dimensional accuracy, smooth the seam, and achieve a consistent low-Ra surface not practical on drawn or as-welded tube.
Multiple Feature Grinds
Surface grinding can provide multiple features on materials and parts such as barbs, stepped areas, grooves, tapers, needle tips, etc.
This process is exceptional for fabricating a variety of profiles on the OD of finished parts, particularly probe and tubular assemblies for microfluidics, which require tight tolerances and near-perfect finishes.
